This programme is available as an ‘at home’ programme of: resource material, reading, reflection, spiritual practices and includes four spiritual companioning sessions by skype or phone. During the programme we look at five strands of the path: theology, prayer/meditation, compassion, creativity and social justice through teachings and practices of contemporary sages such as Merton, Newell, Bourgeault, Baxter, Rohr, Fox, Doherty to name but a few. This is an experiential programme to deepen and support your own sense of the contemplative Spirit. This residential weekend retreat is an opportunity to explore what "conscious contact" means for each of us and more importantly to experience this contact within our day to day lives. Dis-ease and stress will always distract us from ‘conscious contact’ so what are simple meditations that will bring us back. The retreat will be experimental, with time for individual reflection, discussion and there will be an AA meeting on Friday and Saturday night. Facilitator: Pip Nicholls www.thegentleartofknowing.co.nz Venue: Home of Compassion, 2 Rhine Street, Island Bay, Wellington Time: Friday 7pm to Sunday 2.30pm Cost: $140 for accommodation and meals plus koha for facilitator.
